As the name implies, at Rockhound Rock Shop, it’s all about the rocks. Known as the largest rock shop in Michigan, the Rockhound Rock Shop is a must stop destination for rock lovers at all experience levels, from novices who want to learn about rocks to serious collectors looking to expand their knowledge as well as their collections.

At the Rockhound Rock Shop, they offer a large variety of stones that can’t be found anywhere else, including fossils, minerals, meteorites, tumblers and tumbler supplies, loose gems, slabs, cabochons, rough rocks, and so much more. But their store is not just a plain, everyday store… it’s an experience destination; within their large store, you can utilize their large panning area to search for gems as well as visit their lapidary workshop. You can also try your luck and see what you can discover at their “crack your own geode” station.

Education is at the forefront of everything they do at the Rockhound Rock shop; they sell a large variety of books that cover the many aspects of rocks and rock collecting, as well as offer classes in jewelry making, such as cabochon, faceting, and wire wrapping. And they have expanded their interests to include classes such as felting and beekeeping. Rockhound Rock Shop is also hoping to open a large mineral museum across the street from the shop’s location in 2026 to further education about stones and minerals.
